I don’t believe in glamour alone: Actress Hansika

 

Hansika has said, "Can I do the glamour roles which I am doing now after five years. The heroines who are forerunners for me had donned glamour roles in the initial stages and later on switched over to character roles.

I can’t understand the concept when people ask me that whether glamour is my weapon. I can do any kind of characters. I have the confidence that I am a talented person."

In an interview with Hansika:

We feel that you are facing stiff competitions because of the advent of new glamorous actresses?

Let it be. I have full confidence in me. I am doing my duty. I am enjoying this competition mentally and physically. I consider this as healthy. Everyone has got the right to show their talents in this industry.

You are acting with leading actors only. Will you not act with new faces?

I don’t accept a film after ascertaining about the hero. I will decide a film after listening to the story. I hope you can understand about this now.

The films that you had acted so far had no chance to prove your mettle. Have you decided that name, fame and money are enough?

It is not like that. Money and fame is necessary. I am expecting the films which will have scope for me to show my hidden talents.

Can’t you avoid the excessive glamour?

Can I do the glamour roles which I am doing now after five years? Almost all the heroines have donned the glamour roles. Can I sell vegetables in the fish market?

Are you not supposed to be the role model of the debuting actresses?

I consider my predecessors as my role model.

When there was importance for the heroes, there was also importance for the heroines like Padmini, Savithri, Saroja Devi and Khushboo. There is no importance for you like them.

Definitely I will come to that stage. There is time, age and God’s grace.

Can you act like Anushka who is donning different kinds of roles like Arundhati and Rudrama Devi?

I can also act.
